Getting here

Well served, but by lines that arrive at three different corners of a small neighbourhood.

Tribeca is compact — you can cross it on foot in fifteen minutes — so the practical question is which corner you want to arrive at.

Subway

Canal Street is the northern edge. The 1, A, C and E all stop there, as do the N, Q, R, W, J and Z at the Broadway end. Use this for the gallery blocks around Walker, White and Lispenard.

Franklin Street (1) drops you in the middle of the neighbourhood and is the most useful single stop for Duane Park and the historic core.

Chambers Street is the southern edge and is served by the 1, 2, 3, A and C. Use it for Washington Market Park, the Harrison Street houses, and the walk west to the river.

World Trade Center and Park Place are a short walk south, useful if you are coming from the E or the 2 and 3.

PATH

The PATH train from New Jersey terminates at the World Trade Center, a five-to-ten minute walk from southern Tribeca. It uses its own fare, not OMNY fare capping.

On foot

Tribeca sits directly below SoHo — walk south from Canal and you are in it. It is a ten-minute walk from City Hall, fifteen from the Seaport across the bottom of the island, and about twenty from the Brooklyn Bridge pedestrian entrance.

Bike

The Hudson River Greenway runs along the western edge and is the fastest north–south route on the west side. Citi Bike docks are dense throughout the neighbourhood.

Driving

Street parking is close to nonexistent and much of the neighbourhood is Belgian block, which is unpleasant to drive on and worse to cycle on. The Holland Tunnel approach funnels heavy traffic across the northern edge at Canal Street for much of the day — avoid it if you can.
